I felt like my old Flash website had gone to the dogs so I blew the dust off of those old html books to make a version that was more blog-like and easier to update.

You can still get to the classic Flash version of my site by clicking here.

I hate being tongue-tied whenever I'm asked to give a spiel about my stuff so I've set myself the goal of writing a paragraph or a least a few sentences whenever I make a new image.

My email list had become so unwieldy I decided to replace it with a yahoo group. If you join www.groups.yahoo.com/groups/robclarke_art you'll be notified whenever I'm up to something new. Also I use the group as a forum to get feedback on the development of my dogboy "Scoot".

It's always cool to hear from you.

Keep your eyes open for this anthology of gay illustrators which includes the world-wide debut of Scoot. It's the sequel to the must-have "Stripped" published a couple of years back by Bruno Gmuender.

Here's Scoot tricked out for Gay Pride. I was inspired by a relative who sends me pics of her dog dressed up for holidays. Yeah I know - that's kinda sad, but at least her dog is real.

I drew this Fartin' Cowboy about 15 years ago - it's the image I'm going to have engraved on my headstone. Last week a friend sent me this flier for some band I've never heard of that was using it in a poster. Despite stealing my image I think it's a cool poster - they also 'appropriate' Picasso - which sort of puts us in the same league.
On May 29, I was in a one night show / art event, put together by painter Thomas Woodruff and photographer Aaron Cobbett. It was a rare opportunity to show my series of "gymbunny" drawings that I did a number of years back. I wanted to show some original work instead of the digital stuff I've been doing lately.

I did manage to go away on a short vacation this summer - it was real nice not looking at a computer screen and compulsively checking my email for a whole week. I didn't bother taking Scoot along - I just left an open bag of kibble for him and filled the bathtub with water. When I got back however, I found he'd taken a shit in my shoes.

I've been driving myself crazy trying to decide on who or what should be holding Scoot's leash. In a flash of inspiration I came up with the a idea of - a monkey. Monkeys appeal to me because they are anthropomorphic, have a whiff of 'otherness' to them, and have a long history of dominating humans.

One of the reasons I draw is to scratch an itch I have in a very specific place. I guess that's why I'm hesitant to do commissions - illustrating other men's erotic fantasies rarely puts ointment on the right spot, and all that unnecessary itching just leaves me sore and red.
